Ruby Sackett

Ruby Mary Sackett (Lemmon, Salazar), 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away on May 18, 2014 at the home of her daughter surrounded by loved ones. Ruby was born August 13, 1931 to Oral Don Sackett and Ruby Wright Sackett. Ruby was raised in Charleston, Utah. She married Donald James Lemmon on December 25, 1947 and later H. Joel Salazar on May 20, 1967. She was a member of the LDS Church and devoted her services to the Salt Lake Temple from 1984 – 1995. She worked and retired from Utah Power & Light Co. During retirement Ruby loved to work in her garden and travel with friends. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Pioneers.
Ruby was a gracious and loving person and will be missed by many. She is survived by her sisters Marie Carr and Louise (Merrill) Nelson, son Dennis Jorgensen (Mary), daughter Dawna Jean Romeo (Rick), step children Katy Hilton (Donn), John Salazar Sr., Michael Salazar Jr. (Colleen), Patrick Salazar, Lisa Blakemore (Page), Mary Sotelo (Ted) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Rd., West Jordan, Utah on May 27, 2014. Viewing will be at 10:00 am and services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Charleston Cemetery, Charleston, Utah.
