Ruby Earlene Prescott, 88, left this world on February 6, 2025, at home in Riverton, Utah surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 19, 1936, in Charleston, Utah to William Earl Giles and Ruby Mae Stanley. Earlene, as she was known, grew up in Heber City, Utah, where she attended Wasatch High School.
Earlene married her high school sweetheart, James L Prescott on October 10, 1953. They were together for 67 years.
She was the loving mother of seven children Vickie (Tom), Jill (Frank), Cheri (Kim), Susan (Roger), Stacey (Kari), Jeffrey (Shauna), and Jamie (Garth). She had 25 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Earlene is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings Audrey, Chloe, Ruth, Boyd, and Stanley, grandson Mitchell James, and great-grandchildren Tjaden, Kalena, and Ruby.
Earlene was a talented and devoted mother and wife who was very involved in her children’s lives, spending many years as a PTA board member, Cub Scout leader, and in the Little League baseball organization. She was also an amazing seamstress. She lovingly sewed all her daughters’ wedding dresses.
Together with her husband Jim, they enjoyed numerous outdoor activities camping, hunting, fishing and simply enjoying time in the mountains with their family.
She was passionate about family reunions, gardening, reading, and playing cards and games. On the walls of her home hang many beautifully framed cross-stitch art she made.
Earlene was kind, patient, considerate, and genuinely sweet to everyone. For many years she perfected those qualities as she cared for Jim. He often referred to her as his angel.
She will be dearly missed.
