Ross Wherritt Baum, age 83, passed away on April 10, 2017, in Cottonwood Heights. He was born on September 13, 1933, in Heber City, Utah to Irene Olivia Williams and Isaac Fulwell Baum. He married Janet Cotton-Betteridge on February 9, 1962 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Ross joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. Received a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics and a Master’s of Education from the University of Utah. He taught for 26 years in the Salt Lake and Jordan School Districts. Ross loved to work with his hands doing home improvements. He enjoyed working on family history, taking his family on road trips and loved to visit his home town of Heber City. He was an active member of the LDS church; served a full time mission in England and Ireland; and served as ward clerk for three bishoprics.
He is survived by his wife Janet, children: Lorraine Barr, Ross Isaac (Jennie) Baum, Annette Baum, Julie Baum, and Colleen Baum. He has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
