Rose Riedel peacefully passed away on September 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lehmingen, Germany on December 12, 1929, to Johann Karl Reichert and Anna Maria Kopfberger. It was during her early years on the family farm that she learned how to work hard, make due with very little, and persevere through pain and tragedy. At 15 she left her little village and took a job as a housekeeper and nanny. This was the start of a great adventure that eventually led to her joining the LDS church, becoming a U.S. citizen and settling in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she lived for over 60 years. She lived a life of service and was a beautiful example of courage, grace, dignity and humility. She is survived by her daughters Susan (Rex) Allred, Mary Ann (Paul) Hess, and Elisabeth (Merlin) Allred, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as her nephew Karl (Andrea) Reichert and children. In addition, she has left behind many others whom she loved and considered to be family.
In death, she will be joining her parents, her brothers Karl and Friedrich, her sister Wilhelmina and her granddaughter Melissa. Her funeral will be held at Lake Hills Mortuary 10055 S. State Street on Friday, September, 16th at 11:00, with a viewing one hour prior. To leave an online condolence please go to www.MemorialUtah.com.Service Information
