Rose Montoya Romero

February 10, 1936 — February 22, 2022

Rose Montoya Romero, age 86, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.  Born February 10, 1936 in Dinkeyville, Bingham Canyon, Utah to Frank and Ifania Montoya.  Rose married Elizardo (Lee) Romero in Bingham Canyon, Utah in 1954, her lifetime love, dancing partner and father to her children.  Rose had many wonderful memories growing up in Dinkeyville and made friends that lasted a life time.
In the early 1960’s Rose and Lee moved their family to Midvale, Utah where they continued to grow their family.  Her career included working at Cottonwood Hospital working in many positions including respiratory therapist aid which she loved doing, and Midvale Elementary school as a bilingual teacher aid.  She loved working with children. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was a former member of the Guadalupana Society, participated in Las Mañanitas where she painted Juan Diego’s cloak with Our Lady of Guadalupe which was used for many years in the celebration, she also restored one of the statues of Jesus Christ that was located on the alter.
She loved drawing, painting, sculpting, writing poetry, crafts and photography.  She loved to be out in her yard gardening and having a cup of coffee with Lee, her kids and anyone else who came by.  She loved doing anything that involved her family whether going to her grandchildren’s games or performances, camping, family reunions and going out to eat and finding out you weren’t the only one invited.  Her favorite dance partner was her husband and her love of dancing continued with her children.  Listening to music was always part of her day.  She loved music especially Spanish music and music from the 50’s and 60’s.  Children were very special to mom.  She was always making something for a grandchild or someone else’s child.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Najarro, Lori (Bob) Yerman, Dan (Glenette) Romero, Debbie Ison.
