Rose Anna Savage Udy

March 14, 1956 — March 29, 2019

West Jordan, Utah
March 14, 1956 ~ March 29, 2019
Mother ❤ Grandmother ❤ Sister ❤ Friend
Born March 14, 1956 to John Hedman Savage & Lena Marie McCreary (both deceased) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Survived by her siblings John (Kathy) Savage and Cora (Gordon) Milar. Rose passed peacefully at home surrounded by loving children on March 29, 2019 of lung cancer, almost one year after her official diagnosis. Rose’s last wish was for everyone to check and, if necessary, treat their homes for Radon gas, the second leading cause of lung cancer, which was found high in her home. According to a statistic reported by ksl.com, approximately 1 in 3 Utah homes has a cancer-causing Radon level at potentially harmful levels. A loving, devoted mother whose touch made every holiday magical, Rose is survived by her five children, seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who were her lifelong source of joy. Daughter Angela (Jason) Geurts—Grandson Aaron (Lexie) & Great-Grandson Troy, Granddaughter Ysabel (Clayton) & Great-Grandson Lincoln Nehring, Granddaughters Anna, Lydia, Adellaide & Alayna; Daughter Stephanie Udy—Grandsons Lance & Tyler Wightman; Daughter Kristina (Eugene)—Granddaughter Adeline Cauvin; Son Bryan Udy—Grandchildren Abagail, Dallynn, Kaydence, Qwencey, Jaxsin & Brydgr; and Son Joshua (Xan)—Grandsons Todd & Logan Udy.
Rose was dearly loved as a friend and second mother by the Radmall family and many close friends.
Rose was a friend you could always count on at any hour who loved to visit, talk, and—of course—vacation. Rose was loved as a dear friend by many, including clients she served as a home-health caretaker, high school friends, and many others she met, loved, and enjoyed throughout her life.
Rose loved to organize and keep everything neat and clean. A lover of elephants, chocolate, vacations (especially to Hawaii), The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, flying kites, roller skating, browsing clearance racks, and living every moment to its absolute fullest, Rose was an example of maximizing every minute of her life.
Rose wrote this line specifically for her obituary: “Remember to Hope 4 the Best—Prepare 4 the worst—Take what comes with a smile! C U on the other side!”
