“Beloved Wife”
Our sweet wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by those she loved, April 7, 2014. Born May 29, 1947 in Salt Lake City, UT to Manuel and Juanita Hernandez-Garcia. Married Leo Salazar, December 12, 1964 in Salt Lake City and later renewed their vows at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, February 4, 1977.
Mom loved to dance. She and Dad would dance to music at home while cooking on Sunday mornings. They are best known for their Mexican dishes, especially chili verde, enchiladas and Mom’s famous potato salad. Her hobby was to spoil her grandchildren. She bowled for many years at Rancho Lanes with her husband and their friends. Rosalie worked as a shift manager at Sconecutter on 54th and Redwood Road with the owners Vicki and the late Gerald Warner, whom she loved. She suffered many years with declining health, but her spirit stayed strong. Mom wrote of her favorite doctor “David Zackrison took very good care of me. When I was ill he always found out what was wrong. I was happy that he was the best Dr. for me. His staff has been so nice, Angie, Tammi and Holly. I loved them as if they were my family. So, thanks for everything. I would also like to thank Oquirrh Dialysis. You did a great job taking care of me and keeping me alive and to the team… well done. May God bless you all.”
Rosalie is survived by her chauffer and husband of 50 years, Leo; children, Anna (Kerry) Eoff, Lori (Tim) Lozano, ReNae (Vaughn) Nelson and Leo Robert Salazar Jr.; grandchildren, Johnny Salazar III, Jessica Lozano, Maelisa Salazar, Vanessa Lozano, Gabrielle Lozano, Patrick Eoff and Tierra Lozano; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Leticia, Dominic, Tayliel and many more Nelson children; siblings, Diana (Farold) Adams, Jesse Garcia, Ernie Garcia, Richard (Sondra) Garcia and Gilbert (Norma) Garcia. Preceded in death by her father, Manuel.
