Rosalie Billeter

May 4, 1936 — October 26, 2014

Our beloved mother passed away quietly, Sunday, October 26, 2014. Rosalie, “Rose,” was born May 4, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest daughter of Theodore Wilford Plescia and Hortense Beryl Blake. She attended South High School where she met Roy J. Heagren. They were married for 24 years and were the parents of five children: Danny Lee, Larry Roy, Gary Lynn, Rose Ann and Catherine Lucille, each of whom were her favorite child. She was then married to Ralph E. Hendrickson and later in life was sealed to Gerald P. Billeter in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity
Rose had great faith and a strong testimony of the gospel. She provided years of dedicated service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Rose loved music and each of her children were encouraged to play a musical instrument or sing. Rose sang with the Salt Lake Oratorio Society and the Swiss Chorus Edelweiss for many years. She learned to play the piano and organ when she was in her early thirties. She studied organ with Frank Asper where she played the Salt Lake Assembly Hall organ at Temple Square. Later in life, she held the calling of Salt Lake Temple organist. She loved to entertain others both on and off the stage. She performed in many musical productions across the valley including Promised Valley. She loved to travel and visited many countries including Israel, where she had the opportunity to perform Handel’s Messiah.
Education was always important to Rose. She always encouraged her children to take advantage of their educational opportunities. After her children were raised, Rose attended the University of Utah where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Rose loved children and shared her talents with them. She was a Primary chorister, PTA president and had an amazing gift for helping children to excel in reading.
She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore W. and Beryl H. Plescia, her brother Theodore W. and sister Sylvia H. Pedersen, husband Gerald P. Billeter, grandchildren Larry Roy Heagren II and Brittany J. Heagren.
She is survived by her brother Ralphael Plescia, children Danny Lee (Diana), Larry Roy (Diane), Gary Lynn (Mary), Rose Ann (Mark), Catherine (Cole) and numerous grand and great grandchildren.
