Rosa Edna Gallegos

September 26, 1930 — May 29, 2018

Our beautiful, loving, and gracious mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend, Rosa Edna Gallegos; passed away on May 29, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones, due to complications of a heart attack on April 30, 2018.
Edna was born on September 26, 1930 to Fidel and Eva Arellano in Costilla, NM. She married Thomas E Gallegos (deceased) and together they raised five children. Edna had a passion for reading and learning that continued throughout her life. She loved to travel with her family, especially to Mesquite, NV for extended stays with her daughters where she enjoyed the warm weather and playing bingo. She loved gardening with help from her special daughter, Linda Briggs, and was known for her beautiful flowers. One of her great accomplishments was family get-togethers that always included delicious meals she prepared with love, happiness and an open invitation to all who knew of our Friday night dinners.
She is survived by her children, Lillian (Don), Geraldine (Ross), Diane (Jim), Tommy and Benjamin. Also survived by her sister Lillian (Phoenix), 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends. Preceded in death by parents, siblings and great-grandson, Isaac Martinez.
