Rosa Arenaz

Our loving mother and abuelita Rosa Maria Arenaz, 84, passed away peacefully Thursday July 31, 2014.
Rosa was born August 25, 1929 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico to Serafin Canto Rodriguez and Antonia Sosa de Canto.
Rosa Maria married Carlos H Gomez on June 17, 1947. They later divorced. Rosa and Carlos had four children, Elia (Toni), Enrique, Fernando and Carlos.
Rosa Maria re-married Jesus A. Arenaz on February 22, 1983. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Rosa Maria is survived by her brother Arturo Canto Sosa (Elena) of Merida, Yucatan Mexico. She is also survived by her daughter Elia Toni (Johnnie) Duran of West Jordan, Utah; sons, Enrique Gomez , Fernando (Rocio) Gomez of Merida, Yucatan Mexico and Carlos (LaRee) Gomez of Overton, Nevada, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Rosa Maria was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends, especially at birthday parties. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, collecting family photos and refurbishing old dolls.
A viewing will be held at Lake Hills Mortuary, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again Friday August 8, 2014 from 10:00-11:00am.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 am at Lake Hills Mortuary.
Interment at Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah .
A luncheon will be provided after the funeral services at the Heritage 5th Ward, 6772 South 3420 West, West Jordan.
