Ronald Grieg Kline

May 17, 1946 — August 9, 2019

Ronald Grieg Kline passed away with his wife at his side August 9, 2019 at home in Morgan, UT at the age of 73. He was born on May 17, 1946 to Elizabeth Burton and Stanley Earl Kline at 4:30 PM on a Friday. At the age of 23, he married Barbara Jeanette, age 21, on December 6, 1969 after his service to his country in Vietnam. They have been together 50 years.
Some of his hobbies include fishing, camping, bowling, hunting, playing cards, riding his Harley, and spending time in their cabin and Spring Creek Estates by Lava Hot Springs, Idaho in the mountain range overlooking the town. Ron’s working career started at the Layton Artic Circle as a cook. He worked at the old Navy Base Freeport Center painting buildings, placing windows, and roofing. As a young man, he also worked in Soda Springs, Idaho. His career then started at Western Refrigerator, later called Hobart Paint Commercial Refrigerators/Freezers, in the same old Navy base he had helped to upgrade. At this point, a few years later he started his career at Hill Air Force Base painting landing gear. A while after retirement, he went to work at Garts Sports in the gun and fishing department, two of his hobbies he enjoyed very much.
Shortly after graduating from Clearfield High school, Ron as many others were drafter for the war at the time in Vietnam. He joined the Navy and served his time as many other young men did. Ron had grown up with his friend Danny in Sunset. He as well upon gradation was drafted and went into the Army. Ron earner metals for his service and received after two active years of way and four years on reserve list to be called back if needed received an Honorable Discharge. He served three tours of duty. His lifelong friend Danny was critically injured when he turned over a mine with another armed mine, also attached underneath it. Danny lost both legs and one arm living only 3 days. Ron has requested leave not knowing of the accident and got to Sunset in time to be a pallbearer for one of his best friends.
He truly loved his children Tamara Lynn and Danny Grieg. We have been so lucky to have four grandsons; Jacob Williams, Aaron Williams, Dylan Kline, and Gunnar Kline. Ron adopted Tamara Lynn when she was 6 & ½ years old and loved her deeply. Danny Grieg was named after the best friend lost in war. In my lifetime, I have never seen a man love his children and grandchildren more. He enjoyed watching them grow, learn, and just have fun.
Ron is preceded in death by his father, sister, mother, brother, and daughter-in-law Cynthia Renee Powell Kline. He is survived by his wife Barbara Jeanette Kline, son Danny Kline and his two sons Dylan Kline and Gunnar Kline, daughter Tamara Williams and her two sons Jacob Williams and Aaron Williams.
You fought a great long battle for a long time, Ron, now rest in peace.
At Ron’s request 4 days prior to his passing, he requested that his service be small in number for his immediate family. These arrangements have been made in honor of his request. Rest in peace, Ron, until we all meet again. We will deeply love and miss you always. Love, Barbara.
On Friday August 9, 2019, the world lost a great man with a heart made of nothing but love and acceptance, one that stood by his wife with love through thick and thin, protected, supported, and loved his children no matter what. He adored his four grandsons as if the Earth only rotated for them, and the stars shined only on their souls, and cherished his friendships.
It’s a great loss, one that’s bittersweet. One that will be hard to recover from for all those that loved and knew him. He had been sick and struggled from illness for some time. We will undoubtably miss him with broken hearts but know he is no longer suffering and in pain.
This man, my dad, taught me that family can be more than a blood line, and that love and acceptance is what makes a man a dad. He has an unbreakable bond with his son, one I know my brother will cherish and carry forth to his sons.
I believe my dad lived a long happy life on this Earth. One filled with love, happiness, and respect. I know that his death is only but a new chapter and travels for him. This is not the end, bot only a new purpose and way to do what he always had on Earth. Just now it will be in spirit to love, watch over us, guide us, and protect us.
With love, respect, and admiration to our loving father and grandfather, your loving family.
