Roger Schmitt

Roger Rolf Schmitt left this life on December 13, 2014. He was born June 9, 1949 to Margarethe Ottilie Krieg and Friedrich Schmitt in Frankfurt, Germany. He married Sallie Anne Royle on September 11, 1981. Though born in Germany, he loved being an American. He collected eagles in all forms and sizes, especially with American flags. He changed from long-haul trucking to local deliveries to be closer to his family. Due to health problems he was forced into early retirement in 2005. Above all else he loved his wife and children.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sallie; and children, Charles, William, and Maren Schmitt.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Klaus D. Schmitt.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the Willow Canyon First Ward, 9636 South 1700 East, Sandy, UT. Viewings will be held at the church Thursday, December 18 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mountainviewmortuary.com.
