Roger Gene Leavitt–Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, unexpectedly passed away March
30, 2021 at the age of 63, after a lifelong battle with substance abuse.
Born March 17, 1958, in Rose Park, UT to Arthur Rowell and Ruth Workman Leavitt. Roger was a great lover of the outdoors, including the expanses of Space and its mysteries, an ardent
reader, cinema enthusiast, a dreamer, full of charm, and a hopeless romantic.
He served his country in the U.S. Military as a paratrooper for the Army Nation Guard, Specialist Division—holding merits and certifications as an equipment engineer and mechanic, with high
honors for marksmanship and sharpshooting.
Roger is survived by his four children, Jennifer (Tim), Daniel, Kyle (Destiny), Kayla.
Siblings, Alan, Carol, and Kathy. Three grandsons, Bryant, Westley, and Tre.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Rowell and Ruth Workman Leavitt, and brother
Gary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary &
Cemetery: 10055 State Street, Sandy, UT 84070. Following, there will be a procession to
interment at Redwood Memorial Estates: 6500 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT 84123 at 2:30
PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Utah’s Odyssey House—a non-profit organization specializing in drug rehabilitation.Service Information
