Roger Gardner Hamilton

Roger died at age 74 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital on Thursday, June 16, 2016. He battled with kidney and bone marrow failure, at the time of his death. Roger was born in Escalante, Utah on Aug 6, 1941 to George Gardner Hamilton and Laverne McInelly. Roger was survived by his brothers and sisters, Ardena Sucese, Wes Hamilton, Evadene Baron, Jack Hamilton, and Loretta Hamilton. He leaves behind 4 children: Kevin Hamilton, David Hamilton, Marchelle Hamilton McCoy, and Brandon Hamilton. Roger will spend his eternity with his family members who have left us before him: George Hamilton (Father), Laverne Hamilton (Mother), Travis Hamilton (Nephew), Johnny Sucese (Nephew), Michael Long (Nephew) and Alice Hall (Wife). Roger was married to Joyce Shelton and Alice Hall. He was a dedicated Veteran in the Vietnam War from 1964-1966 in the Army. Roger loved Pepsi, country music, a good pair of cowboy boots and fishing. He retired from the University of Utah in 2004, where he worked in Facility Operations. Roger was a loving and giving man, who will be missed by all of his family and friends. He called his boys Fellers and his daughters and nieces Punkin. Roger was a member of the LDS Church. His viewing will be held on Monday June 27, 2016 from 6-8pm and his Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 9am-1pm at the Valley Ridge Ward LDS Church 5823 South 4800 West. Roger will be laid to rest at Camp Williams and will receive a military graveside tribute for his service in the US Military.
