Roberto Donato Zafra was born in Lima, Peru on February 4, 1936, to Manuel Isidorio Zafra and Sara Tamayo Sachun. He was one of eight children, Manuel, Maria, Ricardo, Rosa, Alejandro, Berta, and Orlando.
Roberto is survived by his wife, Anita Iris and their seven children, Iris, Ana, Robert, Manuel, Patricia, Cristhian and Sarah. Together they have 25 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Roberto and Anita were married in Peru on April 6, 1963. After immigrating to the United States of America, on January 12, 1979, Robert and family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Subsequently, the family was sealed for time and all eternity at the Ogden Temple, in Ogden, Utah on February 6, 1982. Roberto spent a good part of his life along with his family in his Bountiful home.
Roberto was a professional floor covering installer for over 60 years and always provided for his family. He took an avid interest in all sports, but was most passionate about soccer. Roberto coached many soccer teams and taught many soccer players in his community. Roberto loved and always trusted his God, He loved his wife, family, and always cared about helping others. Roberto will always be remembered as a caring, kindhearted, honest and devoted person who was respected, esteemed and admired by those who knew him.
His services will be held at the LDS chapel in Bountiful, UT on March 12, 2021 at 12PM. COVID precautions necessary.
His resting grounds will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful UT.Service Information
