Robert “Robbie” Oliver Ward Jr.

March 5, 1968 — December 27, 2019

Robert “Robbie” Oliver Ward Jr., age 51, passed away peacefully in the presence of family and friends on Friday, December 27th at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Born to Robert Oliver Ward and Pauline (Burgess) Kinlaw on March 5, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Robbie was an avid bowler, enjoyed golfing with family and was known to many for his endless supply of “one liners”. It was extremely rare to see him without a smile on his face, but Robbie was never more happy than when he could be with his son, Derek, the joy of his life and his proudest accomplishment.
A proud graduate of West Highs 1986 graduating class, Robbie married Stacie (Bailey) Ward, fellow West High Alumni on August 8th, 2015. Though short in duration, their marriage was testament to the fact that love has no required time frame. In nearly five years of marriage Robbie and Stacie enjoyed traveling, joined local bowling leagues and shared welcoming several grandchildren. The oldest of three children, his younger brother and sister would describe him as someone they shared a unique bond with and an incredible uncle; he took pride in being called “Uncle Rob Dawg”. Robbie will undoubtedly be remembered for his absence of judgement and ability to make friends wherever he went. He was flawlessly able to spread his happy go lucky demeanor using humor (however inappropriate it may have been at times).
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Stacie; His siblings Kelly (George) Stanley, Terry (Brandy) Ward and Lynn (Bridgett) Martinez; Children Derek (Kelli) Mitchell, Shawntel (Derek) Kennedy, Alexander (Nataly) Bailey, Treyvyn Bailey and Makenzie (Angelo) Dillard; His grandchildren Treyshaun, Kaylee, Llyssia, Alexiah, Benny, Aleah, Marley, Allyanne, Allianaa, Natalia and Lillyan; Several adored nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services for Robbie will be held on Saturday, January 18th at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123. Viewing will commence at 12:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM.
