Robert Peterson age 80 passed away on July 13, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Bob was a man of great integrity, strength and limitless courage with a quick wit and humor that will be missed by all who knew him.
He was born May 29, 1935 in Salt Lake City Utah and graduated from Granite high school in 1953. He joined the United States Army and proudly served 35 years from 1953 to 1988 where he made many life long friends retiring with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. He married Shirley Ann Hartvigsen (the love of his life) on December 22, 1956 and they were happily married almost 59 years.
Bob worked for many years in the floor covering business and then went on as an instructor for Job Corps teaching that trade. He truly cared about his students and was told by many of them that he was the best “Father” they ever had!
Bob had a larger than life personality and an amazing positive attitude. He loved spending time with family and friends, camping, boating, and riding motorcycles whenever possible and was “IN CHARGE” to the end.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild Angel Judd.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, 3 children, Bob Jr, Collette Peterson. Rochelle Wellborn, 8 grandchildren, Paul, Willey, and Talon Peterson, Misty Sessions, Jason Hunt (Sandi Hart-Hunt), Lindsy Palmer, Cole and Seth Wellborn. And 5 wonderful great grand-children.
