Robert Murray Murdoch

October 25, 1918 — October 1, 2016

On October 25, 1918 in St. Anthony, Idaho, Robert Rue and Mearl Garret Murdoch welcomed their 10 ½ pound son into this world – they named him Robert Murray.
Murray, or Murr, as he preferred to be called, worked hard in his life as a Glazer and an amazing handyman. He was very talented and excelled in wood working, mechanics, and gardening. He married Zelta Crofts Glover on January 15, 1953 and although he never parented any children, he was a loving and caring father to three children who all grew to love him very much as their second Dad.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years Zelta and lived on for several more years as a widower at Legacy Retirement. He passed on October 1, 2016 at the age of 97.
He was the most patient, understanding, loving and content man one could ever imagine, and always possessed the most positive attitude throughout his entire life. A man loved and respected by everyone who knew him.
He left behind a loving family consisting of three children: Roena/Steve Pender, Shauna/Bob Whitaker, Dennis/Yvonne Glover as well as 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. We will always remember and emulate the most wonderful and kind man he was.
Murray will be honored at a funeral held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary on October 8, 2016 at 12:00 pm with a viewing from 11:00 -11:45 am. Interment is at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Zelta.
A most extraordinary man indeed.
