Robert Morrill

July 18, 1970 — April 8, 2015

Surrounded by his loving family, on April 8, 2015, Rob returned home to his Heavenly Father and all those anxiously awaiting his arrival.
He was born to Arlo and Joyce Morrill on July 18, 1970. He was raised in the Cottonwood Heights area and graduated from Cottonwood High School. He continued his education at UVU, then UVCC. Rob was a naturally talented artist, and his greatest piece was a painting of his dear Grandpa Al, which we cherish.
The word that best described Rob most was adventuresome. He was passionate about the outdoors, and was happiest when he was climbing a mountain, scuba diving or parasailing. One of Rob’s great accomplishments was to complete the extremely difficult climb of the Island, Pokalde and Lobuche East Peaks, all near Mt. Everest, in Nepal. Probably the greatest feat of all was when he climbed Mount McKinley (Denali), the highest mountain in North America. Every climb was dedicated to his dad who also shared his passion for the mountains. Rob tenderly prepared and placed a tribute at the top of each mountain peak in memory of his dad. He beamed as he showed the pictures of the vast beauty of the mountaintops. Rob felt God’s love as he marveled at His creations. He had a soft heart and simply adored his dog, Chien. Hiking with dear friends (including his dog) brought great joy into Rob’s life.
In 2008 Rob started Clarity Window Cleaning with his sister, Jenni. Together they built a successful business and secured many of Salt Lake’s commercial buildings as clients, as well as many residential jobs. Of course, using ropes and hanging off of buildings was right in Rob’s wheelhouse.
Rob had a deep love for his family and was grateful for the support and unconditional love they always showed him. He knew they would stand by him no matter what. He was grateful for a mother who was devoted and loving at all times. The family would like to thank those who cared for him at the University Hospital, especially Dr. Peter Yarborough, who showed genuine care and compassion to Rob and the entire family.
Rob is preceded in death by his father, Arlo Morrill, his grandparents, Al and Marion Gibson and Merlin and Ellen Morrill.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Morrill, siblings Rick (Nicole), Chris (Kathryn), Jenni Johnson (Mica), Jill Schneider (Jon) and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13th at Noon at the River Ridge Ward, 10124 S. 1300 W. South Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. The interment will be at Memorial Estates Cemetery, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, UT.
