Robert Marshall Rudy, age 71, passed away on August 2, 2020.
Robert was born to Ira Reed Rudy and Lucille Rudy in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 19, 1948, alongside his two brothers Russ and Reed. Robert was honorably discharged from the Army in 1971. He became an accomplished diesel mechanic, married, and had two sons which led to his greatest treasures, his five grandchildren. Robert had a large family and many lifelong friends. He had a huge loving heart and enjoyed his relationships to the fullest. Robert was a free spirit, he lived and experienced life on his own terms. Robert battled for many years with substance abuse, but was able to find sobriety and reconnect with family and build loving relationships with his sons, grandchildren, and other family members. Robert would say that this was his greatest achievement.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert Shea Rudy (Crystal) and Cory Rudy; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Gracelyn, Madison, Teia, and Hudson; and his brother, Russell Rudy (Sandy).
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Ira Reed and Lucille Rudy; brother, Reed Rudy; and sisters, Gayle Thatcher and Linda Mehalic.
Inurnment will take place at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park at a later date.
