Robert Lee Holmes, March 18, 1926 – December 12, 2021
Our beloved Husband, father, Grandfather and Great grandfather passed away peacefully at home on the morning of December 12, 2021 at 95 Years old. He was born March 18, 1926 to Ruben and Alta Holmes in Thayer, Missouri. After graduating High school, he went on to serve his country in the Navy from 1944-1946. He married the love of his life Mary Lou Burtram on August 24th 1948. In the years after Mary passed, he had a wonderful companionship with Shirley Ward. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and taking road trips in his motor home. The price is right was a morning ritual at his home along with coffee and extra crispy bacon. In his down time, he could always be found watching old western shows, Perry Mason and the Andy Griffith show. He loved to ride his bicycle and search for cans with his granddaughter Heather. His passion to serve his country was passed down to his son Richard and Grandson Spencer. He also shared his love of Super Nintendo and spam sandwiches with granddaughter Heather and Grandson Spencer and his love for taco Tuesday at Del Taco with all of his Grandchildren.
In his later years he enjoyed playing checkers and chess with his Grandchildren Nyah and Kalia. And he was always searching for his Granddaughter Sammie anytime she left the house. He loved his family so fiercely.
He is survived by his two sons Richard (Tracy); Robert (Dionne); grandchildren Heather (Matt); Spencer (Jessica); Chantre, Nyah, Kalia, Sammie, Brittney Scott and Jordan Wager. And great-grandchildren Kayden, Brinlee and Mason
He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Two sisters and Five brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 17,2021 from 2:00 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Viewing will be held at 1:00 P.M. at 8181 Breeze Drive, Magna Utah.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. And we would like to extend a special thank you to Willie, Sue and Barbara for being wonderful friends to Bob and always being there for him.Service Information
