Robert John Phoenix “Papa”

Pa was born February 24, 1937 in Provo, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Beal Phoenix and Margaret J. Haney; sister, Jannette Brown; and step-mother, Esther Dorworth. He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Phoenix; his daughter, Julie R. Oblad and her family: Glenn, Jim, Tyson, McKinsie, Timothy, Cicily, Kjera, Jory-Jonathan; daughter, Suzanne L. Phoenix and her family: Jeremy, Joshua, Tallie, Jennifer, Chanse; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Papa earned his degree and taught at the University of Utah. He was a Systems Analyst for Salt Lake County Auditor. We are proud of his service to his country, as he served in the U.S. Navy. Papa loved science, Star Trek, long drives, old cars, motorcycles and teasing family. We love you Pa and hope you are somewhere learning something incredible.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Memorial Murray Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah. A viewing will be held at that same location on Friday, January 18 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM and again one hour prior to services on Saturday. Condolences may be left at www.MemorialUtah.com.
