Robert Eugene James passed away on March 22, 2014 at the age of 81. He was born in Borger, TX on June 15, 1932 to William Oca James and Willie Mae DeLaughter. He was the eighth of nine children. As a child he worked on a farm and followed the wheat harvest through the heartland of America. He served eight years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He married his eternal companion, Delores Isabelle Parker, on August 26, 1955 in District Heights, MD. Robert and Delores joined the LDS church in 1964 and were sealed in the Dallas Temple. Their youngest child and only son Bobby had a side-by-side bond which was always there and continued until Robert’s death with Bobby by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Delores, daughters, Susan (Ray) Nail, Kathryn (Sky) Blaylock and son, Bobby (Monique) and six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and brother, Ray James. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters and grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 12 noon at the Mountain Point 3rd Ward (498 East Hollow Creek Road, Draper, UT). A viewing will be held from 10:30-11:45 am at the church. Interment will be at Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Lake Hills Memorial Mortuary.
