With tender hearts we said goodbye to Robert Henry Krantz our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. Bob passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017. He was born to Henry and Lucille Madsen Krantz on May 7, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up on Princeton Avenue in the in Bonneville area and graduated from East High School. He graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of Utah. Bob married Janet Louise Pedersen in the Salt Lake Temple on April 7, 1953. They lived and raised their family in Holladay, Utah. Bob served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the Korean War, stationed in South Korea. He enjoyed working for Young Electric Sign Company for over 28 years of his career. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved to travel the world, fish, and relax at their Midway cabin. Dad was known for his dry sense of humor, creating laughter in almost every situation. As he got older, he enjoyed playing games and doing puzzles with his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Janet; his children: Randy (Susan), Sue Payne, Jeff (Mitzi), and Russ; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Shirley West. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lucille; his sisters: Janice and Marlene; and granddaughter, Heather.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Cottonwood Mortuary 4670 So. Highland Drive. A viewing will be held prior to services from 11 a.m. to 12:15. Interment at Memorial Holladay Cemetery. The family expresses appreciation to everyone that has helped care for Bob over the years including the staff at Cottonwood Place Assisted Living, Community Nursing Services and Hospice.Service Information
