Our devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Robert Aaron Hancock, born June 05, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
Robert had an indestructible testimony of the gospel and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rob served a two-year mission in Adelaide, Australia. His dedication to his faith was evident in every aspect of his life, and he was a shining example of Christlike love and service.
Robert had the biggest heart, always putting others first and making everyone feel valued and loved. He found immense joy in spending time with his sweetheart Julie and their beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Whether sharing laughter at family gatherings or offering a listening ear, Robert’s presence brought warmth and comfort to all who knew him.
Robert also had a passion for books and music. Finding joy in reading, playing the dobro, and listening to his collection of CDs. These moments of creativity and reflection brought him peace and inspired those around him to appreciate the simple, beautiful things in life.
One week shy of retirement, Robert reflected on a career filled with adventure and discovery. He spent his life driving trucks, cherishing the opportunity to admire the ever-changing scenery while exploring new routes and towns. The open road was not just his workplace but a source of joy and inspiration, offering him countless stories and experiences that he carried with him throughout his life. Beyond his career, he had a deep love for driving his Harley, finding freedom and peace on the open road. Robert was also passionate about falconry, captivated by the beauty and skill of these majestic birds. The open road and the skies alike fueled his sense of wonder and appreciation for life’s adventures.
Robert is survived by his sweetheart Julie (Bringhurst) Hancock together for 39 years. Children: Aaron John Hancock (Katie Hancock) and Whitney Amber Hancock (Anthony Villarreal). Grandchildren: Greyson Hancock, Jameson Hancock, Allison Hancock, and one on the way. Siblings: Babette Tali (sister), Lee Hancock (brother), David Hancock (brother), Paul Hancock (brother), and Matthew Hancock (brother).
