Robert Eugene Cummings born on June 19,1969 to John R. Cummings and Sue Werner in Santa Clara, CA. and passed away May 1, 2021. Robert was the first surviving grandchild on either sides of his family and was a favorite from the start. He was a charmer and was known as a young child as ‘The Moocher’. Robert grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and attended High School at Brighton and Skyline High. He later received his GED to enter The United States Navy, in “A” School, Graduating 3rd , in his class. He served aboard the aircraft carrier US S.S. Eisenhower as an Operations Specialist. Most of the time serving in the CIC [Combat Information Center] pre-Deseret Storm serving in the Gulf War. He was later honorably discharged due to illness and returned to Utah. Latter he moved to Seattle where he worked for Microsoft. Robert enjoyed living in Seattle for many years, where he was active in the local community serving youth that were struggling. He became an avid Seahawks fan and never wavered from that loyalty. He later moved back to Utah and settled in Taylorsville where he lived out the remainder of his life. He worked for Convergys and was a well-respected member of their management team for many years. One of Robert’s strengths was helping others in their time of need. He was a shoulder to cry on, a jokester and had a very large giving heart! He loved to tickle and tease his nieces and nephews! He was very creative, and a talented singer. He enjoyed reading even from a very young age. He also loved soccer and played in his youth.
Robert is preceded in death by his partner Craig Barnard, grandparents; Eugene (Gene) & Adele Jackson; Lucetta (Lue) and John (Jack) Cummings; Step-grandparents; Dahl & Lena Goble, Raymond & Marie Werner, and nephew James Madison Ricks.
He is survived by his parents, Sue Werner (James), John R. Cummings, Stepmother Dee Cummings (Bill), his sisters Sherrie Ricks (Martin) Kristine Hicks (Jamie) brother Michael Cummings (Shaylee), his Best Friend Ron Higgins, and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many good friends.
