West Jordan, UT- Robert (Bob) John Robertson passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 30, 2021. He was born on October 17, 1945 in Grand Junction, Colorado to John and Ann Robertson. He grew up in Murray, Utah.
Bob loved to hunt and fish. His favorite place to go was Strawberry Reservoir. He enjoyed gambling and had a great system for playing the slot machines. Bob loved shopping and dressing up for holidays. It always made him happy to make people laugh.
Bob’s favorite holiday was Christmas and he could usually be found dressing up as Santa. He recently took up painting and won some awards at a county fair. He had a passion for gardening, especially vegetables.
Bob worked at the Kennecott Copper Mine from 1970 to 2006. He worked in the haul truck shop and enjoyed working with the mining equipment. Bob could tell you the history of the mine and the process of mining ore.
He lived in Utah for most of his life, but spent a few years in Evanston, Wyoming and more recently in Grants Pass, Oregon. While he lived in Oregon, he got his dog, Cowboy. They did everything together and spent a lot of time at the dog run and in the garden.
He is survived by his two boys, Troy (Brittany) Robertson and Robbie (Annie) Robertson, his sister Sharyl (Mike) McCarthy, and his four grandchildren: Shandon, Shiane, Taylor, and Kaiden.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Ann.
Bob’s wishes were to spend eternity at his favorite fishing hole. His ashes will be spread by his family at a later date.
