Robert (Bob) Franklin Lewis

April 28, 1953 — August 29, 2018

Robert (Bob) Franklin Lewis, II, age 65 years, died peacefully at home, in Sandy, Utah, on August 29, 2018. He was born on April 28, 1953 to Stanley and Lorraine Lewis.
Bob was a varsity athlete in High School as well as member of the Glee Club, leading to his love of music, including a spot in The Grand Land Singers. He was a court reporter for the Third District Court in Salt Lake City.  He used his court reporting skills to become a pioneer in the Closed Captioning industry.  He was the first to provide Closed Captioning for Jazz games.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all skiing.  Bob was a volunteer National Ski Patroller for over 25 years, at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah and Seven Springs Resort in Pennsylvania.  While in Pennsylvania, he also served as a volunteer fireman for the Marshall Township for over 5 years.  He returned to Utah and worked as campus security at High Schools in the Salt Lake City School District, as well as many other security positions.
He is survived by his children; Calleen (Alan) Kenney, Jennifer (Ben) Graham, and Robert (Rosey) Lewis, his sisters Robin (Ted) Nehrkorn and Jodi Lewis (Adry Oliveira), and his grandchildren Maia, Harley and Kyra Kenney, Lucy and Nora Graham, and Violet and Addilyn Lewis.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Stanley Lewis and Lorraine and Albert Hinojosa.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 6pm at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah; with a celebration to follow, contact family for further information. The family requests that donations be made in Bob’s name to Autism Council of Utah @ https://autismcouncilofutah.org/donate/
