Rita Mae Lish

Early on the morning of August 25, 2021, Rita decided it was time to return to her heavenly home and her long lost but not forgotten loved ones. Rita Mae Lish of Downey, Idaho, 84, born March 22, 1937, to Newell LaMar and Ethel P. Hall.
At a young age Rita married J.D. Wood and together they had a daughter, Catherine, and later divorced. She then met and married the love of her life H. Claude Lish and together they had a son, Tony, 2 daughters, Carma and Barbara, and took into their home their 2nd son, James.
Rita’s greatest love was her family, nothing thrilled her more than having her grandkids and great grandkids over for a visit or torture as she would call it. She also loved hummingbirds, the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing with her family. She enjoyed working at The Department of Work Force Services where she retired after 30 years, leaving many lifelong friends behind, but retiring didn’t slow her down. After she lost her Claude, she was broken, but with the help of her brother Blaine moving in with her and being her saving grace, she was able to learn to live again. She reunited with J.D. and together they traveled to Australia, drove throughout the northwest and into Canada seeing the sights.
Rita is survived by her daughters: Catherine (Craig) Bitterman, Barbara (Brian) Petersen; son: James (Kate) Glaubensklee; daughter-in-Law: Susie Lish; Dad: Raymond Hartung; 3 sisters, 1 brother, 15 grandkids, 20 ½ great grandkids, and 4 great-great grandkids. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, son, daughter, 2 grandsons, Mother, Father and Brother.
We would like to express our Sincerest gratitude to Misty Nomberto, and the staff at The Ridge at Cottonwood, and Silverado Hospice. They were so loving and caring to Rita at some of the toughest times of her life.
A funeral service will be held Friday September 3rd at 2:30 PM at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, where friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 PM, and 1 hour prior to services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
