G. Richard Wright passed away Wednesday January 28, 2015. His family finds comfort remembering his joyful-loving spirit.
Rick was born February 1, 1954 to Floyd and Betty Wright in Visalia, California. He received a degree in Chiropractic Science at the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. In 1976 Rick married Karen Pope, together they had four children. Rick and Karen later divorced. Rick then married the love of his life Lori Lashley Wright. Rick and Lori found the greatest versions of themselves together. Their love was cheerful, free, and loyal.
In both work and pleasure, Rick’s goal remained steadfast: caring for others. He always put the needs of everyone else above his own and he was extraordinarily perceptive of other’s feelings. Rick could always be depended on to follow through on his promises and make those who he interacted with feel special and loved. Rick was a successful chiropractor for thirty-three years, specializing in automobile accident injuries. He truly cared for his patients, treating many of them for free. He enjoyed hiking, gardening, golfing, racquetball, skiing, and spending time with his family. He was happy, kind, and quirky. Family and friends will remember Rick as a nurturer, health enthusiast, and a tender soul who carried the heavy burdens of the world. He taught us to view the world with a little less cruelty, and that the smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.
Rick was preceded in death by his devoted father, Floyd Wright and his special Uncle Jack Teague (Frann), who he knew would welcome him with open arms. He is survived by his wife, Lori Lashley Wright, his loving mother Betty Wright, brother, John Wright (Kathy), sister, Susan Mallamo (Paul), his seven children Amber Featherstone (Jeff), Aaron Wolfenbarger (Jaymie), Benjamin Wolfenbarger (Katrina), Matthew Wolfenbarger, Karly Watson (Logan), Adam Wright (Jamie), Ryan Wright (Hillary), and his grandchildren Dawson, Ryken, Beckam, Taylee, Baby Jack, Maycee, Talmage, and Taggert.
