Richard Wallace Olsen

Richard Wallace Olsen was born June 24, 1939 to Grant Alma Olsen and LaRue Wallace along with his twin Sister Louise in Salt Lake City, Utah. At the age of 79 he died January 15, 2019 at his home in Midvale, Utah.  Richard was married three times Dena Gibson Allen-Olsen, Carolyn Johnson Sharp, and Hetty Williamson.  Richard served in the United States Army from 1956 – 1962.  Richard spent many years in the field of finance working for Bon Marche, and Child support enforcement. Before retiring he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and close friends.  Always the perfectionist he loved to cook for family and friends.  His golden touch in the kitchen will be greatly missed.  Richard spent his retirement years enjoying Nascar, golf and antiques.  Richard is survived by his wife Dena; his twin sister Louise; sons Steven Richard Olsen, Anthony (Tony) Olsen, and Scott Webre.  His beloved dogs Suzie and Rocky; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Kyle Olsen and Grant Craig Olsen; daughter, Heather Lyn Olsen; grandson, Mark Fowler.  Richard’s wishes were to have a celebration of his life on his birthday in June.  His friends and family are invited to attend.  Please let Dena know of you wish to attend the celebration of life by emailing her at dallenolsen@msn.com. Interment will be Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Lake Hills Memorial Park 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richards name to a charity of your choice.
