Richard Walker

Richard Gary Walker passed away on May 23, 2014 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born on May 2, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rodney W. Walker and Georgia Hendricks. He graduated from South High School. On April 21, 1966 he married the love of his life, Patricia (Pat) Jean Antonio and later sealed in the temple on June 21, 1984.
He served in the National Guard as a Green Beret from 1966-1970. He was in the transportation division most of his life, as well as successfully running his own business from 1986 – present. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed having the prized yard of the neighborhood. He was a great husband and father, who especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Jean Walker, six children Tony (Sher) Walker, Mark (Amy) Walker, Kim (Jeff) Hammer, Georgia (Kirk) Petersen, Robyn Walker, Rodney (Keri) Walker. 15 grandchildren with one on the way and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother Dale (Venece) Walker.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Saturday May 31, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 am preceding the funeral service at 11:00 am. All services to be held at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary located at 4670 S. Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah. Interment will be at the Richmond City Cemetery in Richmond, Utah.
