Our dear Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, Richard “Richie” V. Billings passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017, from complications do to a long struggle with COPD. He was born in Buhl, Idaho on May 6, 1943 to Garlin Anson and Helyne Vera Billings.
He graduated from Murray High School in 1961. He worked in construction and eventually owned his own construction company – B&W Construction. Bowling and camping were a few of his many passions. He will always be remembered for his wonderful smile, generosity and willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his children Jolene (Chris Putman) Summerhays, Sheri Bodell, Ryan Billings, Jerod Billings, and Kacy (Andy) Grasso, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and his sister Gwen (Stephen) Fuller. Preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Laurie “Jan” Billings, his parents, and his brother Jerry H. Billings.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, October 14, 2107 at the Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 East Bengal Blvd (7800 S.).
The family wants to express sincere gratitude to Silverado Hospice for their loving care over the past year and a half.
