Richard “Rikk” Davis

May 8, 1943 — November 25, 2017

Rikk was born in Salt Lake City on May 8, 1943 to Ed and Dallas Davis. He returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on November 25, 2017, age 74.
Much to his mother-in-law’s chagrin, Rikk and Kae Ellett were married on September 22, 1971. Eventually they were blessed with three red-headed sons and after many years of love, patience, and prayer the family was sealed in the Jordan River Temple on September 22, 2015 (much to his mother-in-law’s delight, as well as everyone else who knows the family).
Rikk was a proud graduate of South High School. After a brief stint working at Hogle Zoo, he retired from Capitol Glass after 38 years.
Throughout his life Rikk loved supporting his boys and his grandchildren in their sporting events. He was a diehard fan of the Utes, the New York Jets, and the New York Islanders. At one point he even threatened to relocate to New York. Rikk loved camping and hunting and created many memories with family and friends at the Book Cliffs and Coffee Pot Campground. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin. When we next see Rikk we fully expect to see him dressed in shorts and a t-shirt with a buffalo on it, regardless of the temperature outside.
Rikk will be greatly missed by his faithful wife of 46 years, Kae Lynore Ellett Davis, his sons, Todd (Suzanne), Tysson (Marilee), and Zane (Brianna), his 10 grandchildren, his sister, Sharon, and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank the transplant clinic, especially Doctor Frech, at IMC and Harmony Hospice, especially Doctor Heath, Pat, Jamie, Shannon, Laurie, and Miriam.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 29 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Thursday, November 30 from 10:00 to 10:45am. The funeral will be held Thursday, November 30 at 11:00am. The viewings and funeral will be held at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S., Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
