Richard Lester Davis returned to his Father in Heaven December 6, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Richard was born in Payson, Utah on March 3, 1946 to Homer and Lily Davis. He married Carol Lee Allen May 10, 1969. Marriage later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
Richard enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 and was a Corpsman medic in Vietnam. He worked at the US Postal Service for 32 years retiring as the West Regional Fleet Manager. He was a temple worker in the Manti Temple. He was a devoted husband, and a loving grandfather.
Richard is survived by his daughters: Wendy (Dale) Ainsworth, Taya (Murphy) Munsell, and Marie (DeVon) Toone. Sisters: Vaunda, Karlyn, and Pamela. 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Danelle, and grandson Curtis.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A viewing will be held at the same location on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Interment to follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
