Richard Lee Gallegos

Richard Lee Gallegos, A beloved Father, Brother, and Grandpa passed away peacefully at the IMC Hospital in Murray, Utah on Friday, August 17th 2018. He was surrounded by his family with love and prayers.
Richard was born September 27, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Joe O Gallegos and his late mother Rachel Lopez Gallegos. He was the second oldest brother of fourteen children.
Richard attended Granite High School and later completed his GED. An avid welder, he earned his certification at the Trade School for Welding at Salt Lake Community College.  He spent most of his life doing what he loved, in worship with the Lord, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and siblings. He highly enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fly fishing, sightseeing and camping. He was a jeweler enthusiast, he spent time making jewelry, collecting, looking for the finest gems he could. He also enjoyed collecting various antiques.
Richard is survived by his sweetheart of 30 years Valerie Murray and their 4 children Nichole (Rhean) Fontanoza, Katrina (Joseph) Trujillo, Angelina (Francisco) Cuevas, Matthew (Beckie) Murray, Richards first wife of 9 years Evie Ivory and their five children Dominique (John) Bridges, Shelly (Joe) Schell, Richard (Angelique) Gallegos, Joseph Gallegos, Rachel (Chris) Guerrero, He was blessed with 27 grandchildren. His siblings Alex (Cathy) Gallegos, Delores (Joe) Martinez, Christine (Chuck) Heise, Darlene Gallegos, Nick Gallegos, Lupita (Daniel) Martinez, Manuel Gallegos,  Jorlene (Sam)Salisbury, Joey (Leesa) Gallegos, Tilly (Robert) Magana, George (Teresa) Gallegos and blessed with several nieces and nephews who he adored.
He is preceded in death by Parents Joe O Gallegos and Rachel Lopez Gallegos, Sister Stephanie Gallegos, Brother Trino Gallegos, Nephew Alex Joe Gallegos, Sister in- law Terri Sutherland.
At this time we would like to extend a thank you to the doctors and nurses at the IMC Thoraic ICU Hospital for all their support and hard work, love and patience, and for the caring of our loved one, Richard Gallegos.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday August 23, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, Celebration of life service will start at 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm at Memorial Murray Mortuary 5850 South 900 East, Murray, Utah 84101.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at Salt Lake Christian Center 4300 South 700 East, Salt Lake, Utah, 84107, a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens 1075 East 4580 South, Millcreek, Utah 84117
