Richard Haycock

June 25, 1936 — May 6, 2015

Richard passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2015. He was born in Salt Lake City on June 25, 1936 to Obed Crosby and Mary Harding Haycock.
He attended South High School, University of Utah and Utah State University. He was a member of the Air National Guard. He worked as an Engineer for IBM for 38 years.
Richard served many years in the scouting program and other callings. The highlight was the five years he spent serving in the Salt Lake Temple.
He married Peggy Elaine McNair on November 29, 1955. They had 8 children, 33 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife; his sons, Richard (Beverly), Carl, Craig (Jennifer), and Josh (Nicole); his daughters, Sharyn Warr, Susan Bruderer (Craig) and Linda Steele; his brothers Don and Ralph; his sisters Lois Porter (Roland) and Jean Gardiner Smith. Preceded in death by his parents and his son Kent.
Viewings will be on May 11, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive and on Tuesday, May 12 one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay 10th Ward located at 2565 East Murray Holladay Road (4601 South), Holladay, Utah. Interment at Holladay Memorial Park.
