Richard Franklin Daly
December 17, 1927 — December 18, 2017
A steadfast servant of the Lord, Richard F. “Dick” Daly left his earthly body December 18, 2017, one day after his 90th birthday. Richard was born on December 17, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Marion F. and Robert M. Daly.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Ruth Daly and Robert Daly; the mother of his children, Lois R. Daly (D. 1988), Marcella Daly (d. 2000) and Vivian Daly (Nov 24, 2017).
Richard spent his career as an air traffic controller. He enjoyed golf and playing the organ, however, his greatest joy came from reading and studying the Bible. His favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:1, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Richard taught Sunday School for 40 plus years at Cornerstone Church formerly known as First Southern Baptist Church of Rose Park.
He was a dedicated father to four children Linda Daly Ames, Jeffery W. Daly (Lisa), Paul R. Daly and David R. Daly (Margo). He had four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Richard leaves all who knew him a spiritual legacy “That the Lord loves you”.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1 PM at Cornerstone Church, 1175 West 600 North, SLC.
