Richard Fay Rigby

Our precious father, Richard Fay Rigby, 82, died 5-8-17 at his home in West Valley, UT. Born  10-2-34 in Fairview, UT to James Boyd & LaRell Mitchell Rigby. Married Louise Worthen 9-3-54 in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting and mostly FISHING. He loved his family and gave us countless memories of fun times together.  Dad was a hard worker and taught his children the value of hard work and that work ethic will be passed on through his posterity. He had a wonderful sense of humor but also had that famous “Rigby Temper” that he got from his mom and that unfortunately rubbed off on us kids -just a little bit too.
 
Dad was a friend to so many.  In his younger years he enjoyed square dancing and made so many wonderful lifelong friends.  He and mom enjoyed their time in Quartzsite, AZ and have made many dear friends over the years that are so special to our parents.    Dad was a successful business man and owned a copier company for many years and made many wonderful lifelong friendships with those that he employed that he cherished dearly.  He truly loved Cliff Fausett and Don Anderson – two friends and neighbors that were always there when he needed help and to spend a day on the lake drowning worms.
 
Richard is survived by his sweet wife of 62 years and his 7 children, Debbie Soelberg(Jay), Tina Gutierrez, JD Rigby(Julie), Russell Rigby(Peggy), Laureen Seewer(Ron), Judy Buckley(Don), and Pam Waldorf(James). He has 28 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Also survived by loving sisters Gayle Erickson and Shanna Gardner.
 
Funeral services  will be Saturday 5-13-17 at 12pm at his LDS church 3901 W 2925 S in West Valley. Viewing Friday 5-12-17 from 6-8pm and one hour prior to services. Interment at Redwood Memorial 6500 S Redwood Rd. Please go to www.memorialutah.com to leave condolences.
