Richard Falslev Hoopes, “Dick,” passed away March 10, 2016. He was born July 24, 1927, in Benson, Utah to Warner and Pearl Hoopes. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, biker, gardener, collector and artist who shared his skills with his children and grandchildren. He retired from Hill Air Force Base in the Tank/Radiator and Design and Layout Departments. Throughout those years he also ran his own television and radio repair business in the evenings. He married Vivian Jones. Together they had three children. They later divorced and he married the love of his life, Betty Peterson.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Mary E.) Hoopes, children, Paulene Coleman, Connie Kaufman (Steve), Troy Hoopes (Margaret), Barbara Gilbert, Lynnette Frost (Rick), Matt Peterson (Pauline), Peggy Gustafson (Leo), Sue Frigm, two sisters, a brother, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dick’s life wasn’t easy, but he overcame any obstacles that came his way with great tenacity and bravery.
Funeral Services will be held March 19, 2016, at 12:00 noon in the Bountiful 12th Ward Chapel at 1476 North 300 West, Bountiful, Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:45-11:45 AM.Service Information
