Richard “Dick” Sugden

March 15, 1927 — April 19, 2015

Richard “Dick” Terry Sugden passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah after 88 years of a happy life. He was born on March 15, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He enlisted in the Coast Guard during World War II and was thankful he could serve our country. He married Leah Baldwin in 1946. He retired at the age of 50 from Univac, and to avoid shoveling snow, bought a home in Cave Creek, AZ. They spent 35 sunny winters there, enjoying the warm weather and their friends. Dick liked all sports, especially fishing at their cabin on Strawberry Reservoir.
Dick is survived by his loving wife Leah; daughters Joyce (Charles) Dillier, Judy (Lloyd) Machal, son Terry (Diane); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT) at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held at the same
location Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
