Richard “Dick” Edward Adderley

November 8, 1934 — January 30, 2019

Richard Edward Adderley, 84, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away January 30, 2019 surrounded by his beloved family.
He was born November 8, 1934, the son of Leonard J. Adderley and LaPreal M. Payne.
Richard was able to live his life the way he wanted to and remained puttering around the yard and house up to his final days. He enjoyed many things including fishing, hunting, camping, trips to Wendover, camping at Flaming Gorge, and most importantly spending time with his family. He scolded us regularly that the family visits were never often or long enough. His life included many adventures with the highway patrol (Officer Dawson and Officer Benson), Utah Waste Paper Company, JD Towing and JK Automotive. Almost every outing resulted in someone recognizing him and chatting with him for a bit. He is loved by so many!
Alex Trebeck has lost one of his biggest fans. He also enjoyed watching the Jazz, Miami Dolphins and the daily News. He had many hobbies including rock polishing, wood working projects, and fixing/building things. The infamous BBQ Shack will forever be remembered. A BBQ in back yard full of family was his favorite time and we loved him enough to keep our “burnt steak/pork chop” comments to ourselves (most of the time). He was always busy working on fixing or building something and sometimes he even finished the project at hand.
His greatest joy was his grandchildren. He taught them to fish and hunt, he played games with them, attended their events (parties, graduations, performances). They are his pride and joy!
Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his children: Kathy Webb, Rick L. Adderley (Jennifer), Don Adderley, Blaine Adderley (Patti), Phyllis Perkins (Ray), and Jodi Clark. 27 Grandchildren. 39 Great-Grandchildren. And 1 Great-great Grandchild. His siblings: Betty Howard, Diane Jensen, Carol Duncan, Bruce Adderley (Sally).
He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Debbie Alvey. His siblings: Bob Adderley, Keith Adderley, Judy Adderley, and Johnny Adderley. His grandsons: Sonnie Alvey and Daniel Webb. And his love and companion for 33 years, Daphne Moos.
