Richard Caldwell
December 18, 1945 – December 8, 2015
Richard Caldwell, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died December 8, 2015, ten days before his 70th birthday, in a truck/semi truck crash near Rexburg, Idaho. Everyone who knew Rich was lifted by his smile, cheerful humor and the twinkle in his eyes. He was entirely devoted to Sheri, his wife and sweetheart of 47 years. Good (and sometimes bad) weather would find him riding his motorcycle with his best friend and twin brother, Ray. He brought an engineer’s perspective to all problems, and he could fix anything. He was active in the LDS church his entire life, serving in many callings and as an ordinance worker at the Salt Lake Temple, just like his parents. His love for his Savior was evident in his continual service and love of others. He leaves us a legacy of love, commitment, hope and compassion.
He is survived by his wife Sheri, children Dustin (Heather), Brandon (Ann), Heidi Ortega (Daniel), Kim Puhl (Michael), and Kristin Witzenman (Kevin), siblings Cheryl DeHaan (Greg), Ray (Danita), and Bruce, and 16 grandchildren. Funeral services 12:00 pm with a viewing from 10:30-11:45 am at the Brighton LDS Stake Center, 2895 Creek Road, Sandy, UT, Saturday, December 19. Viewing December 18, 6:00-8:00 pm, Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South. To send condolences to the family visit www.mountainviewmemorial.com
