Ricardo Sanchez

November 28, 1979 — August 12, 2019

Moroni Ricardo Sanchez Perez, our incredible, loving son, brother, and father of four children, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at the age of 39 in his home in North Salt Lake City, Utah.
Rick was born on November 28, 1979 in Mexico City to Marcelino and Adelina Sanchez. He was the youngest of 6 children, spending his early years growing up in Mexico. Later the Sanchez family moved to the Salt Lake City area, where Rick attended and graduated from Kearns High School. Rick had the wonderful opportunity to grow up in a family business where he learned the value of working hard. Later through his hard work, determination and drive to succeed, Rick became a successful Mortgage Broker and helped countless people with “the American Dream”, to become homeowners. Rick’s passion and compassion helped him excel and become a respected lender in Utah as well as nationwide. Rick was living his American Dream every day, when he got to wake up and do what he loved.
Rick was an avid San Francisco 49’ers fan and went to San Francisco many times to watch his beloved team. He always had his 49’ers hat on, displayed his 49’er helmets in his home and rooted for his team every time they were playing. Rick was also a huge soccer fan and at one point carried season tickets to Real Salt Lake where you could see him cheering them on and enjoying the sport he loved. Rick also loved to hike, take trips to explore new places, and loved to experience life to the fullest.
Rick was an incredible cook and loved to feed his friends and family. Anything he tried to make, he mastered. He loved to explore recipes and was thrilled when family and friends would come over to enjoy a meal that he made.
Most importantly, Rick was a loving and wonderful father to the loves of his life; Alex, Aja, Ricky and Jade were his world. Rick loved supporting his children at any of their football games, dance recitals and competitions but most of all; he loved to laugh with his children. Family time was Rick’s favorite time; his heart was the fullest when his kids were at the table eating something he made.
Rick is survived by his children; Alex, Aja, Ricky and Jade, his parents Marcelino and Adelina Sanchez, siblings; Susy (Terry) Accordino, Marcelino (Kelly) Sanchez, Mahonry (Molly) Sanchez and Carmina (Barry) Hight, and his loving girlfriend, Michelle. He is also survived by nieces and nephews that loved their Tio Moro, along with many friends that adored him. Rick was preceded in death by his brother Helaman Sanchez.
