Rex Thomson

January 7, 1933 — July 17, 2015

Rex was born on January 7, 1933 to Lloyd S and June Wimber Thomson in Wanship, Utah. He passed away peacefully July 17, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Rex served with the Navy as a Combat Air Crewman during the Korean Conflict. He Married Billie J. Cunnington January 29, 1954. Rex retired in 1988 after 31 Years with the Department of Defense as an Aerospace Quality Assurance and Engineering Technician Branch Supervisor.
He is survived by Inez Simons (sister), Kay Thomson (Peggy), daughters Virginia Henson, Geri (Tim) Rich Laurie Thomson-Naylor, seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Rex is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister Rosalie Allred and his son John Thomson.
Rex was past governor of Loyal Order of Moose as well as acting as President and Vice President of National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
The family would like to thank Inspirations Hospice for their loving care towards Rex. With a special thank you to Gloria and Caralee.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 11:00 am with a viewing one hour prior to the service at Redwood Memorial Mortuary.
