Retta G. Mallette Shelton, 86, of West Jordan, Utah, peacefully passed from this life and joined her sweetheart K.E. for eternity on April 20, 2016. Born June 18, 1929 in Salt Lake City to lona Ann (Giles) and Nelson Hickey Mallette. She grew up in the Salt Lake Valley and graduated from South High School. She married K.E. Shelton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 25, 1950. They became the parents of five children. She was a life-long devoted member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities, but her favorite was teaching children. She touched many lives with her creativity and loving service.
Preceded in death by her sisters, Letta Mallette and Nada Mallette White, her parents, husband, and her granddaughter Teresa Marie Shelton. She is survived by her five children, Stephanie (James) Gorton, Rebecca Shelton Gilgen, Marc M. Shelton, Meretta (Kevin) England, Matthew M. Shelton, 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 1st at Redwood Memorial Utah, 6500 S. Redwood Road, from 6-8 PM. Memorial service will be Monday, May 2nd in the LDS Chapel 7255 S. 2200 West, West Jordan, UT at 11 AM, with a viewing at 10 AM prior to the service.Service Information
