ReNae Stones Colligan
4/7/1941 – 10/27/2016
ReNae Stones Colligan, age 75, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016 of renal failure and COPD. She was born on April 7, 1941 in Paragonah, Utah to Wendell James Stones and Vernetta Atkins Stones. She married Larry Nelson Colligan on June 29, 1957. They were blessed with 3 beautiful children. ReNae was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a zest for life and loved to travel, play golf and read. She and Larry spent many years in Yuma, Arizona enjoying the warm weather and the many great friends they made while there. While they were able to travel to many different places in their fifth wheel, playing golf and enjoying being together, she loved to come back home to her family and friends. ReNae lost the love of her life in 2010 and decided to leave the home they raised their family in and had spent 48 years together in the Canyon Rim area to start a new adventure in South Jordan, Utah. She bought a beautiful little home that she took great pride in and made many new friends there who always looked out for her and took good care of her.
ReNae spent 15 years working for Valley/Chase Bank as an assistant loan officer, until she had to take a medical retirement. While there she developed many great friendships.
ReNae endured many hardships in her life and never complained or asked “why me”. She had many illnesses starting at a young age and continued on until her passing. She was a fighter who taught her children how to be strong.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda (David) Crockett, her son, Brad (Rebecca) Colligan, brother, Marlon, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Larry, daughter, Teresa Coons, her parents and sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 4 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Mortuary (3115 East, 7800 South) with a viewing prior to services at 10:00-10:45 am. There is also a viewing, Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 6-8 pm at the same location. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many people from Quality Hospice Services who helped her in her last days and a very special thanks to a wonderful lady, Asena, who gave her unconditional love and understanding while caring for her.Service Information
