Reed M Jensen

February 23, 1945 — July 28, 2017

Reed Myron Jensen was born on February 23, 1945, to Lorna and Calvin Jenson in Roosevelt, Utah. Reed returned home on Friday, July 28, 2017. He married Deon Rassmussen September 3, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they had three children, Marcy, Monty (Monique), and Melissa (Chris), and one favorite grandson, Mason. Reed was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and his eternal companion.
Reed was a very hard worker who enjoyed mechanics, welding, and solving problems.  He was known as a big teddy bear who loved to tease.  His favorite place to be was in the High Uintahs.
Today the greatest man we had the privilege to know, and love, returned home.
He was the hardest working, honest, quietest man you would ever meet; but once you got to know him you were grateful to call him friend.
His parents not only taught him right from wrong, they did so with his fourteen siblings.  This is why they will always be proud to call him son or brother.
His first impression upon the woman he chose as his eternal companion did not go well.  However, she must have seen the goodness in him, because she married him six weeks later to call him husband.
There were many hats this man wore.  Some were very important, and others were just fun. No matter what hat he had on he never forgot he was a child of God.
His most important role here upon Earth, was the role that three children were blessed to be a part of.  It did not matter that he was known as son, brother, friend, husband, grandpa or hero, because to us he was only known in his most important role as DAD.
The family would like to thank Aspen Ridge West and Avalon West for the care that was given to our dad. Also, the staff at the IMC Heart Institute. We would also like to thank the multiple visitors that visited our father to help him pass the lonely time in-between his rehab.
A viewing will be held on August 1, 2017, from 7-9 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT. A viewing will be held on August 2, 2017, at 10 AM with a graveside service to follow at 11 am at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
