Reed Grundy

May 11, 1935 — April 13, 2020

Reed P. Grundy our beloved “Grandpa” passed away April 13, 2020 after a prolonged illness. Reed was born in Delta, Utah May 11, 1935 to goodly parents Paul and Alene Grundy with one sister Larae (Nash).
Our hearts are broken, but we find peace in knowing that he was ready to transcend and leave his broken body behind. He was the definition of a FAMILY MAN and wore that title with pride to the very end. Loyal to his wife “Char” of 59 years to whom he was sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
Reed was an active member of the LDS Church and was also a proud American completing service in the US Army Reserves from 1957-1963. He was loyal and dependable and his biggest concern was always the welfare of his family. He was always cheerful in spite of his physical challenges. Always singing or whistling a tune. His favorite thing was to travel around and “see the sights” both domestically and internationally with family. Some of our best family memories are long drives for a vacation while listening to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Reed was also an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman.
Grandpa loved cars and shared that passion with his children. Cars and boats were always a common sight at our home. Grandpa would regularly get a new car every couple years always buying with a “cash deal”. He always supported his wife and family financially with great diligence. Always acting responsibly for the future but with great generosity for his family. He raised a family free from want. Reed retired as a salesman from the GOODYEAR TIRE and RUBBER CO. after 27 years of service. He was a real “travelin’ man”. The remainder of his life was spent dedicated to the welfare and enjoyment of his wife (Char) and kids (Carlyle, Casey, Alison, and Max) as well as 13 wonderful grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
We will miss him terribly and very much look forward to a joyous reunion on the other side. Until then we know he is singing IN TUNE with angels, walking without pause, hearing with complete clarity and taking in the majestic realm of paradise with two working eyes. We hope that in heaven he is driving with no speed limit, playing a great hand of cards, and eating an endless buffet with no need to watch his sugar. We love you forever, Gandpa. Be free.
Services will be held at 11am at the Bountiful Mortuary Friday April 17, 2020.
A “short and sweet viewing” will be held beforehand for immediate family
members only.
