Rebecca Gail Ashe Bigelow

August 29, 1949 — July 11, 2018

Our loving wife and mother, Rebecca Gail Ashe Bigelow, passed away after six weeks in the hospital on July 11, 2018 in the company of her eternal companion Devere, to whom she was sealed for 49 wonderful years. Gail was born in Lake City, Florida on August 29, 1949 and spent her life devoted to serving her family, friends and her Savior. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including service in Primary, Young Women, Relief Society and Family History. She spent many hours in service to her neighbors and friends. She also served on the boards of various charitable organizations, including Northwest Assistance Ministries.

Gail was full of energy and very creative. She made the world a more beautiful place. She used her artistic talents in the interior design of her home and in her beautiful quilts. She enjoyed painting, sewing and cross-stitching. She willingly shared her talents with many.  She acquired a degree in cosmetology in keeping with her desire to enhance the lives of those around her. Ever the lady, her southern charm added spice to life.

She is survived by her husband, Devere, and their son, Mark (Heidi) of Seattle, Washington along with their five kids, her grandchildren, Carson, Scott, Caleb, Jared and Charlotte, her brothers Kenneth (Nancy), Tom (Colleen) and Al (Donna). She is preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Johnnie Mae Ashe, her sister Sandy and her brother Mike.

A special thanks to the many ward members, family members, friends, medical professionals and others who gave thoughtful and loving care to Gail over the years she bravely faced various health challenges.

A funeral service for close family and friends will be held on July 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary, located at 10055 So. State St., Sandy, UT 84070.
